About The Episode

After growing through different career paths (graphic designer, journalist, intelligence analyst, cybersecurity, and more), Michael decided to go into data science. He likes the idea of dissecting society through a scientific lens.

He realized that the world of dogs would be an interesting field for him to dive into (inspired by his family’s dog, Hawkin).

Dogs have lots of data connected to them – such as breed, size, type of fur, and other attributes. He realized that if you combined that info with the data from shelters, it could make a big difference with the rescue world and being the most efficient possible for getting dogs adopted. As a result, he started Save All The Pets to pursue this mission and bring data technology into the rescue world in a new way.

Now, he is working with different shelters and organizations to expand the idea and implement it in places across the country.
